Austin Texas Construction Lawyer Attorney Law mechanics lien m&m deadline subcontractors

Construction

Construction Law relates to the relationship between the owner of a development project, the general contractor, subcontractors, as well as their insureds and sureties.

Construction contracts, even though some may be generated from accepted sources, are often very different from project to project in how they allocate the risks and responsibilities between the parties, and it is important, even before disputes occur, to have construction contracts reviewed by an attorney that represents you.

Construction law also often deals with mechanic's liens, materialmen liens and surety bonds, both constitutional liens with owners of property, and statutory M & M liens under the Texas Property Code established by contractors and subcontractors that are second and third tier claimants. Instructions related to how to perfect and file M & M liens are very complex and usually require working with a lawyer at least on the internal procedures.

If you would like Cary & Lippincott to help you or your company set up a procedure for filing liens and help train your employees to handle lien filings, or other construction related legal questions, particularly if you are in Austin, please contact Austin Lawyer Marc Lippincott or Erik Cary for pricing and scheduling.
